Matthew Messori

Matteo Messori (Reggio Emilia, 1993) does not like definitions; he does not consider himself a painter or a sculptor; his is a continuous dialogue with form. He has two spaces in which to work in Reggio Emilia, the first he defines: “studio as a place of refreshment, where contemplation and meditation are created, a cognitive gym where one can allow oneself to stop and reflect”; the other is the old carpentry shop inherited from his grandfather, a space dense with history.
